Wily V8 Supercars team owner Garry Rogers has hinted towards an expanded team program for the 2013 season.

Rogers made the revealing claim when asked about the 2013 V8 silly season, which involves his lead Fujitsu/GRM driver Michael Caruso.

Caruso is being linked to a switch to Nissan Motorsport next year, joining the four-car team of Kelly brothers Todd and Rick and current Dick Johnson Racing driver James Moffat.

Talk of Caruso leaving GRM has been ongoing since July, but both Caruso and Rogers declined to comment when quizzed about their futures together.

Rogers hinted, however, that an expanded team program could be on the cards for 2013.

“We’ll be making announcements, within the next period of time, regarding who will be driving our cars and what categories we’ll be running in,” Rogers told

An obvious expansion point would be for the GRM crew to compete in the Dunlop Series, using its current crop of cars, as the V8 Supercars Championship switches to Car of the Future regulations next year.

Rogers confirmed that at least one of his current cars would be sold to a Dunlop Series team, and he has as many as three other cars that could be used in the feeder class next year.

GRM became the fifth V8 Supercars team test its new COTF car last  month, with Greg Ritter giving the car its first run at Winton two weeks ago.
