Super sub Nick Cassidy and Australian Jack Perkins produced a flawless drive to win the opening heat of the Father’s Day 400 at Taupo.
Cassidy, who replaced Greg Murphy in the #51 Holden, brought home the Mike Pero Mortgages Commodore to beat the Scott McLaughlin/Jonathan Webb Auto Trade Direct Commodore.
Touring car rookie Jono Lester was third in the Blackwoods Falcon ahead of Owen Kelly in the Skinny Commodore.
