The Auto One V8 Utes Series will welcome a new driver to its ranks at Bathurst and Surfers Paradise.
Steve Charman, 35, will join Sieders Racing for Bathurst and Gold Coast, before entering the full season in 2013.
Charman will compete in the Ford FG Ute that was debuted by Danny Buzadzic.
The New South Welshman, who won last year's NSW Formula Ford Championship, got his first taste of V8 Utes power at Eastern Creek in a test last year.
Since then, he has been committed to finding a spot in the Utes class, and will fulfil that ambition at Mount Panorama.
“I'm very excited to make my debut in a V8 Ute at Bathurst” said Charman.
“It's going to be a great event, I could think of no other place I'd rather do it.
“The team currently prepares two of the top four series runners, in Andrew Fisher and David Sieders, so that also gives me a lot of confidence in knowing I'll have the right package beneath me.”
The V8 Utes will support the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 on October 4-7.
