Scuderia Ferrari, Mercedes AMG Petronas and Sahara Force India have confirmed they will conduct their annual Young Driver Tests at the Magny-Cours circuit next month.
The announcement comes as the French circuit attempts to lure a Formula 1 round back after a four-year hiatus.
Teams will arrive at the circuit on September 9 for a three-day test, which will feature aspiring Grand Prix stars.
Initially Ferrari, Mercedes and Force India were planning on running their Young Driver Test at Silverstone in July, however the test was reduced to two days.
Toro Rosso, McLaren and Red Bull have announced they will be sticking with the Yas Marina circuit in the week after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix for their Young Driver Tests.
Williams, Marussia and HRT elected to hold their young driver test at Silverstone.
Caterham, Lotus and Sauber are yet to finalise their plans.
Serge Saulnier, Chairman of the Magny-Cours Board was happy to confirm that Formula 1 cars will be returning to the circuit.
“We have worked tirelessly to upgrade the venue, which has just been homologated to F1 standards for another four years,” he said.
“What’s more, this is an extremely positive step forward as we seek to return Formula 1 racing to our circuit. With Magny-Cours a candidate to host future French Grands Prix, it will be fantastic to showcase the track and our staff’s know-how to the high-calibre F1 personnel who will be on-site.”
