Mark Webber has revealed the helmet design that he will compete with at the 2012 Formula 1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix in September.
While has stuck to his familiar blue, red and yellow helmet design across his entire career, Webber recently asked his fans to design a new look for the popular Singapore night race.
Webber received 1,118 entries, with 17-year-old Zlatka Subotičanec from Croatia selected as the winner.
“Zlatka’s design was full of energy and really caught my attention with the unique inclusion of the Australian flag into the colour scheme,” said Webber, who currently sits second in world title.
“I’m also pretty impressed with the cartoon version of me on the back, although he has a few less wrinkles than me …
“After personally looking at all of the designs, I’m truly blown away by the number of people that have put in such a huge amount of effort in this promotion. We have had entries from all over the world, from young and old and from all types of artistic talents.
“It was amazing to see all of the designs that the fans came up with and I’m really thankful for their efforts.”
Subotičanec’s prize for submitting the winning design will see her attend the Singapore Grand Prix to watch Webber wearing the custom designed helmet.
