Team Hiflex has revealed a new backer for this weekend's Sucrogen Townsville 400.
The single-car V8 Supercars team, driven by Tony D'Alberto, will compete with Karakampa branding across the windscreen of its #3 Team Hiflex Ford Falcon FG after the D'Alberto family business Centaur expanded its automotive manufacturing range into the caravan market.
Centaur's caravan arm adds to its range, which includes the manufacturing of police pod capsules, used on the Commodore VE utility of the Victorian and West Australian police.
Later in the year, D'Alberto and endurance race co-driver Dale Wood will be able to enjoy the comforts of the Karakampa, using it as a retreat at the Sandown 500 and Bathurst 1000.
D'Alberto, currently 22nd in the V8 Supercars Championship, says that using the
“We always look forward to the Bathurst 1000, but it's going to be even more exciting this year, because we're going to take a Karakampa up there and use it as our ‘at track' getaway,” D'Alberto said.
“Bathurst is such a massive, intense weekend that you need to have a comfortable retreat – somewhere to be away from the hustle and bustle and have some time to yourself. The Karakampa will be perfect for that.”
D'Alberto and his 27 V8 Supercars rivals will be on track this Friday at the Townsville street track.
