David Russell has been confirmed as Greg Murphy’s replacement for the Skycity Triple Crown at Hidden Valley Raceway this weekend.
The Kelly Racing Development Series driver will drive the new-look #51 Pepsi Max Crew Commodore – the second time this year that he has subbed for the injured Murphy.

Murphy has been sidelined for three months due to an ongoing back complaint. He was operated on today with a planned return around the Sandown 500 in September.
Russell, who will partner Rick Kelly in the #15 Jack Daniel’s Racing Commodore VE at Sandown and Bathurst, currently sits ninth in the Dunlop Series.
He says he’ll be doing his best in his second championship drive this year.
“I’ve got a job to do for the Pepsi Max Crew and will grab this second opportunity with both hands,” Russell said.
“The Pepsi Max Crew have a huge activation underway in Darwin and I’ll be doing my absolute best to put the #51 as far up the grid as possible.”
It is expected that Russell’s drive in the Pepsi Commodore is a one-off, with other drivers likely to take the seat in coming events.
The Skycity Triple Crown kicks off this Friday.
