The V8 Supercars teams are busy setting up their garages at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit ahead of this weekend’s fifth event of the 2012 championship.

This year sees the Phillip Island event revert to a single-driver format following four years as the 500km precursor to Bathurst.

Saturday’s Race 10 will take place over 140km before a longer 200km affair is held on Sunday.

Jamie Whincup heads into the event as the points leader, with Ford Performance Racing duo Will Davison and Mark Winterbottom second and third respectively.

Five practice sessions will be held tomorrow, with the first for endurance co-drivers only.
