New Zealander Jonny Reid will co-drive alongside Michael Patrizi in the #91 Tekno Autosports Commodore at this year’s V8 Supercars endurance races.
The 28-year-old currently competes in both the Porsche City Index Carrera Cup Australia and V8 SuperTourers Series.
Reid had been linked to a full-time drive with Tekno prior to the start of the 2012 season, and says he’s pleased to secure the endurance chance.
“I am thrilled to have been given the opportunity to drive with Tekno,” said Reid.
“They have been really impressive this year, given the amount of work they have accomplished to get both cars up to speed prior to the start of the season.
“I am really looking forward to showing what Michael and I can do.”
Reid and Patrizi were team-mates in Carrera Cup last year, in a season that included a controversial clash between the pair at the Armor All Gold Coast 600.
Reid is yet to turn a lap in a V8 Supercars Championship race. He entered the 2003 Bathurst 1000 with then Development Series squad Smiths Trucks Racing, but did not step behind the wheel in the race after the car retired in the opening laps.
Tekno Autosports previously announced that Scott McLaughlin will co-drive with Jonatohn Webb in the team’s other entry.
