The late Jason Richards will be remembered at a public memorial service at Sandown in Melbourne on Monday 9 January.
The event is open to all public with a gold coin donation.
Richards passed away in Melbourne on Thursday 15 December following a 14-month battle with adrenal cortical carcinoma, an aggressive and rare form of cancer.
Sandown provided many special moments in Richards’ career including his first championship podium in 2005 with Jamie Whincup and where he battled Mark Skaife in the wet in 2003.
In May Sandown hosted a major fundraising event for the Richards family with the mid-week ‘Bid4Jase’ horse racing meeting adding $85,000 to the fund.
The special memorial service for ‘JR’ will run from 3pm-4.30pm.
