Craig Baird says he will be driving with the championship in mind at this weekend’s Porsche City Index Carrera Cup season finale at Homebush.

After six rounds, Baird leads title challenger Daniel Gaunt by 51 points.

While it’s not impossible for Gaunt to catch Baird, the odds are certainly stacked against him.

And that is exactly why Baird will be racing with the championship at the forefront of his mind …

“I’d rather just follow him home than beat him,” Baird said.

“It’s motor racing, so anything can happen and it has come down to Dan and I for the championship.”
