New York set for 2013 Formula One street race
Formula One will host a new street race on the streets of New Jersey, United States, next year.
It is expected that the new race will be confirmed this week, with the first race to be held in 2013.
The event will mean that the United States will host two F1 GPs in 2013, after the debut of the Austin, Texas event at the Circuit of Americas.
Autoweek.com reports that the announcement will be made this Tuesday.
The new race is set to be paired with the Canadian Grand Prix, filling a June time slot. The Texas race will occupy an end-of-season date.
According to Autosport.com, the site of the circuit is unconfirmed, but it is likely to be held alongside the banks of the Hudson River, using the waterfront and the Manhattan, New York, skyline as a backdrop.
