The first episode of the IRWIN Tools Endurance Countdown looks at the two-car Toll Holden Racing Team.

Speedcafe.com’s Grant Rowley is joined by Supercheap Auto Racing endurance driver Jack Perkins, alongside V8 Supercars Championship commentator Chris Jewell to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each team leading into the L&H 500 Phillip Island and Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.

So far, it hasn’t been a year to savour for the factory Holden team. While regular drivers James Courtney and Garth Tander have won three races together (the second highest behind TeamVodafone), off-track issues at the start of the year and poor results have left Tander in sixth place in the title chase, while reigning champ Courtney is 21st.

Courtney will be paired with Cameron McConville in the #1 entry, while Tander will be teamed up with Bathurst 1000 rookie Nick Percat.

Can the team turn it around at Phillip Island and Bathurst? Is Percat’s inexperience going to hurt Tander’s chances?
