James Moffat has rued a number of personal mistakes that may have cost him a podium finish at Queensland Raceway today.

The Jim Beam Racing driver finished in fourth place at the Ipswich circuit – the best result of his short Main Series career.

While he paid tribute to his team, he admitted to feeling disappointed that a podium went begging.

“It’s the whole team’s result today, just a fantastic effort from everyone,” Moffat said.

“The boys did a great job with the car, it was an absolute pleasure to drive.

“If it wasn’t for a few mistakes from myself, like stalling in the pits and almost running off the track at Turn 4 halfway through the race, we probably would have been on the podium.

“So I’m happy, but a bit disappointed at the same time because I gave away a podium.”
