KV’s Takuma Sato has taken pole position for IndyCar’s Edmonton event – ending Will Power’s unbeaten run in qualifying on road courses so far this season.

The former Formula One driver edged out Power by 0.051s in the final ‘fast six’ session, while Ganassi pair Scott Dixon and Dario Franchitti will share row two.

EJ Viso and Ryan Briscoe, team-mates to Sato and Power respectively, complete the top six.

KV’s third driver, Tony Kanaan, was eliminated in the second session and will start 11th.

Local hero Paul Tracy had an even more disappointing run to place 25th in the 26 car field.
