Garth Tander: Driver stability was the key

Garth Tander says stability on the driver front was one of the key reasons he has re-signed a three year deal with the Toll Holden Racing Team.
Tander and the factory Holden outfit announced today at the team’s workshop in Clayton, Victoria, that the two-time Bathurst winner has added a further three years to his deal with team, keeping him at HRT until 2014.
The new deal means that Tander will have a seven-year tenure at HRT, having started in ‘red’ in 2008.
Confirmation of Tander’s future with HRT gives the team two long-term driver deals, with team-mate James Courtney secured until the end of 2013.

“It’s important for stability at HRT,” Tander told Speedcafe.com.
“James is contracted for another two years, I’m here for three, so from a driver point of view, everything is locked and loaded and we can focus on winning races and winning championships.”
The news of Tander re-signing comes just five days after the birth of his first child, Scarlett, on Friday morning.
