Mining magnate and Carrera Cup driver Nathan Tinkler has had his unique $500,000 Ferrari stolen from his house.

Tinkler, owner of NRL team Newcastle Knights and driver of the #5 Porsche in the one-make championship, had the 2010-model Ferrari California pinched over the weekend from his Merewether, NSW, home. It is one of just five of its kind in Australia.

According to News Limited reports, Tinkler also had personal paperwork, jewellery and electronic items stolen during the robbery.

Newcastle police said Mr Tinkler’s car was taken sometime between 11pm on Saturday and 1am yesterday.

Police have issued a plea for the public to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 if the vehicle is seen.
