Tony D'Alberto Racing has announced it has ended its association with Wilson Security, effective immediately.
After carrying Wilson Security sponsorship as its major backer for the 2011 V8 Supercars Championship, the single-car V8 Supercars team confirmed that it will not take up the option to continue its deal for 2012.
TDR did not name a replacement sponsor in its statement.
The team has been associated with Wilson Security for four years, starting in 2008 as a minor sponsor.
The pair built on its relationship, culminating in major support this year. The team ran two cars – one for Tony D'Alberto's Ford Falcon in the V8 Championship, and one for David Wall in the Fujitsu V8 Supercars Series.
Team owner Al D'Alberto says that the split is amicable.
“Tony D'Alberto Racing has decided to part ways with Wilson Security,” D'Alberto said.
“We have enjoyed a four year relationship with Wilson Security, culminating in a major sponsorship deal for this season.
“Our team has sincerely enjoyed the company's support over that time, but we feel now is the right time to move onto new partnerships.”
Wilson Security's managing director John McMellan said that he is now weighing up his options for 2012.
“We've had some internal issues which have delayed our sponsorship decisions for next year,” McMellan said.
“Tony is a fantastic individual and a driver we believe will continue to grow. We think he will go on to bigger and better things and we wish him all the best next season.”
