“We haven’t even finalised what we’re doing to raise money for Skip or how we’re going to do it and we’ve been inundated with offers of support and auction items,” Paul said. “The phone’s been ringing off the hook.”

Jackson had a visit to his doctor last week to be treated for ‘flu – a pre-emptive blood test was returned showing he had stage three prostate cancer.

His doctor mentioned that Skip was the youngest person he had encountered with the condition.

This week, Jackson – who lives in Knoxville, Iowa – home of the Knoxville Raceway – will visit a specialist who will decide the best treatment for the Aussie Sprintcar star.

The Aussie Friends of Skip auction items and donation program will be hosted through the website.

The team at sends its best to Jackson and his family as he prepares to fight the toughest race of his life.
