Two V8 Supercars drivers have been fined and penalised for their parts in slow-down lap incidents at Winton Motor Raceway.

James Moffat (Jim Beam Racing) has copped a $5000 fine for a post-race hit on Tim Slade (Lucky 7 Racing), while Michael Caruso (Fujitsu/GRM) was slugged the same penalty for crashing into Fabian Coulthard (Bundaberg Racing) after the chequered flag.

Both drivers will pay $2500 for their indiscretions, with the other half suspended until the end of the year.

Coulthard also had 25 championship points deducted for an collision with Caruso during the race.

Moffat and Slade had been fighting for 16th position before making contact on the penultimate lap

Dick Johnson Racing team manager Malcolm Swetnam said that the incident is a good lesson in experience for Moffat.
