Former Stig to race in the Gold Coast 600

Ben Collins, the man formally known as The Stig, will suit up with Kelly Racing

The Daily Telegraph is reporting that Ben Collins will compete in this year’s Armor All Gold Coast 600.

Collins, who drove with Kelly Racing in the 2009 V8 Supercars endurance races, is set to return to Australia to co-drive with the Kelly team again in one of their four Commodore entries.

Collins is best known for his former role as ‘The Stig’ on popular car show Top Gear. The British touring car driver was recently sacked, though, when he released a tell-all autobiography titled The Man in the White Suit.

Speedcafe.com contacted a team representive this morning. No one from the team will comment until the official launch.
