Green drive to go ahead despite roll-over

Danny Green’s first V8 Supercars drive is expected to go ahead despite the car suffering a roll-over at Barbagallo Raceway this afternoon.

The ‘Green Machine’ that the boxing champion will complete his promotional laps in is also being driven by Paul Morris in this weekend’s Fujitsu V8 Supercars Series round.

The V8 Supercars team-owner went too deep under brakes into Turn 1 late in the second practice session this afternoon – ending in the car rolling over in the track’s famed sand trap.

A team spokesman confirmed to Speedcafe.com at the circuit that the damage to the Commodore VE is only superficial, and that the team is currently working frantically to ensure that Green’s run will go ahead at 5:30pm local time.

Earlier, Morris had set the fastest time in Practice 1.
