Pye disappointed with Oulton as Nasr extends

Scott Pye’s mixed start to his British F3 campaign at continued at Oulton Park.
Pye qualified fifth for the opening race but lost timeon the opening lap and fell to ninth behind Dane Kevin Magnussen.
That left Pye ninth on the grid for the second, shorter half-points race. The South Australian struggled to make progress on the narrow Cheshire circuit and finished ninth, taking another points finish.
A third ninth place finish came in Race 3 where Pye was again frustrated by the lack of overtaking opportunities, having shadowed Monza winner Rupert Svendsen-Cook for the 26 lap duration.
“It has been good to get some points on the board but I would have liked to have done better, especially after being second quickest in testing,” Pye said post-race.
“It has been disappointing not to have found the speed when it mattered.”
Felipe Nasr took more wins at Oulton Park and now has a handy lead in the series over Jazeman Jaffar. Pye sits in 13th place on seven points.
The next round of the British F3 International Series will be held at Snetterton on May 14-15.
