Wire-to-Wire Power in Alabama

Will Power wins in Alabama
Team Penske Racing’s Will Power has won the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama.
After taking pole position yesterday, the Australian was never headed winning from flag to flag; the first driver to do so since Dario Franchitti at Sonoma in 2009. The victory is his 10th career win in the IndyCar Series.
Power finished ahead of Target Chip Ganassi team-mates Scott Dixon and Franchitti.
Fellow Aussie and Penske team-mate Ryan Briscoe was knocked-out midrace by Ryan Hunter-Reay.
The double-file re-starts once again proved a challenge, with a number of cars eliminated after collisions upon taking the green flag after caution periods.
With a second placing to Franchitti at the opening round in St Petersburg (Florida), Power holds a 7-point advantage in the championships standings over the Scotsman.
