Lowndes, Button prepare for history

The McLaren Mercedes and V8 Supercar in the pits at Bathurst
Craig Lowndes and Jenson Button will get to perform laps in a McLaren Formula One at Mount Panorama today.
After threatening skies looked to halt the one-off car/driver-swap, it appears like the weather will hold and the F1 car will be able to complete its scheduled laps around the famous Bathurst circuit.
It will be the first time a modern Formula One car has lapped the 6.213km track.
F1 McLaren driver Button will kick off proceedings with five laps around the track before Lowndes gets to make his debut in an F1 car with a five lap stint.
Both drivers will also get some laps in a TeamVodafone Holden Commodore V8 Supercar.
