To raise awareness for the Christchurch Relief Fund, all V8 Supercars will carry a special ‘Silver Fern Christchurch’ door sticker at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide next week.

The tragic loss witnessed in the aftermath of the Christchurch earthquake has affected many, and with our significant number of New Zealand friends in the V8 pit lane, V8 Supercars see it fitting that it formally acknowledges the tragedy and raise awareness as they begin to rebuild.

A significant announcement will be made this week in regard to how V8 Supercars itself will support the fund financially.

Also, Stone Brothers Racing has unveiled a special Christchurch Earthquake Appeal livery that Shane van Gisbergen and Alex Davison will sport for the opening rounds of the 2011 V8 Supercar season.

SBR have strong ties to New Zealand so the team sees it fitting to get behind the Red Cross appeal.

“A lot of our crew have friends or relatives who have been affected by this disaster and there are a lot of others over there that need our help,” SBR Team Principal Ross Stone said.

“Hopefully by reminding people over the next few weeks (through the decals on our cars) that our support is still needed, we can help make a difference.”
