Tim Slade: There’s more speed to come

Tim Slade says that he didn’t get the most out of his Lucky 7 Racing Falcon at the Yas Marina Circuit last night.

Slade topped three of the four practice sessions (the first two for the lower 50 percent of drivers based on the 2010 results), only beaten by dual V8 Supercars champ Jamie Whincup with three minutes remaining in the final practice.

Also, the bottom 50 percent teams could only use hard tyres in the first session. All sessions from here will be held on Dunlop’s soft Sprint tyre.

After finishing just 0.01s behind Whincup, Slade is confident that he can continue his impressive early form.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better start,” he told Speedcafe.com.au.

“We didn’t get the most ideal lap towards the end, but I guess everyone’s got that sort of story. Hopefully we can do it all again in qualifying.”
