Lowndes linked to Bathurst F1 demonstration

V8 Supercars driver Craig Lowndes may drive a Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Formula One car at Bathurst next month.
According to a report in Melbourne newspaper The Herald Sun, plans are underway for Vodafone to repeat the publicity stunt that saw Jamie Whincup and Jenson Button swap cars at Albert Park prior to the 2010 Australian Formula One Grand Prix.
Lowndes raced in the International Formula 3000 Championship in 1997 but has never driven a Formula One car, and told the paper that it would be “a dream to drive a Formula One car anywhere, let alone Bathurst.”
The five-time Bathurst 1000 winner is competing at the circuit for Team Joest in the Armor All Bathurst 12 Hour this weekend.
