Reigning V8 Supercars Champion James Courtney says he wants to be the man to take the Toll Holden Racing Team to its next V8 Supercars Championship.

Courtney, who won last year’s V8 crown with Dick Johnson Racing, has made the switch to the famous factory Holden team for 2011 and alongside team-mate Garth Tander, wants to get them back to the top of the timesheets.

“I am super excited about the opportunity to drive for the Toll Holden Racing Team, especially as defending Champion,” Courtney said.

“My goal is to be the driver to deliver the team its next title,” Courtney said.

Courtney said working alongside 2007 champ Tander would be a motivating factor in his quest for back-to-back titles.

“Garth is a championship winner and never out of contention,” he said.

“Like myself, he is an extremely motivated person and in a team environment that adds up to a perfect combination. I am really looking forward to working together with him.”

Courtney and Tander unveiled the new Toll Holden Racing Team Commodore at Holden’s headquarters in Port Melbourne today, revealing a new logo, sponsors and design. He described his race car as “sexy.”

“Holden Design has done a terrific job, the car looks a stunner,” Courtney said.

“It’s aggressive yet classy … sexy.”

Courtney will get his first drive in anger this Saturday at Eastern Creek for the official V8 test day.
