STATS WEEK: Triple 8, Ingall soft tyre kings

Team Vodafone made all the right moves with Dunlop's new soft tyre in 2009
Team Vodafone and drivers Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes were the undisputed kings of the soft tyre races in 2009.
When you tally the points scored by the 28 drivers that raced full-time in the 2009 V8 Supercar Championship Series, both the Triple 8 boys come out first and second in the standings from those 12 races.
The Dunlop SP Sport Maxx Sprint tyre was used at the Winton, Symmons Plains, Darwin, Sandown, Queensland Raceway and Perth events of the 2009 schedule.
The other big mover in the soft tyre standings in Supercheap Auto Racing’s Russell Ingall, who rolled the dice on several occasions this season and saved his ‘softs’ for Sunday’s longer race.

The most notable drop came from Toll Holden Racing Team’s Garth Tander, who fell from his actual points finish of third down to sixth.
