Due to a worsening weather forecast for Saturday (April 4) – the scheduled day for our Santo’s Super 3 Extreme Drag Race presented by Uplift Cranes and Titan Cranes – Willowbank Raceway has made the reluctant decision to cancel the Easter Saturday event.
“This decision has been made very reluctantly,” said Willowbank Raceway CEO Tony Manson.
“The 90 percent forecast for showers and storms on Saturday is in addition to further showers forecast throughout the rest of this week, which makes it impossible for the venue to be appropriately prepared in time for Saturday.
“Making an early decision to cancel the event is not done lightly, but the Raceway believes it is the right call to make for the benefit of the racers and spectators, so that they might have time to change their plans and minimise their costs.
“To say that we are disappointed is an understatement – we love this event and the way it shows our great sport off to everyone. However, given the weather forecast the decision to cancel is the only sensible course of action.”
