Emily Duggan has claimed her second pole position of 2017, qualifying her SmartFuels2Race Hyundai Excel fastest in Round 5 of Series X3 NSW at Wakefield Park on Sunday.

Duggan remains the only female racer to have scored a pole position in any Australian state or national motorsport category this season.

The talented Sydney driver said a productive test day before the race meeting enabled her to find the right setup for the technical circuit.

“I tested at Wakefield Park in the lead-up to the race meeting, and experimented with various adjustments to assess how they affected my car’s handling. I really enjoy testing my car’s setup and providing feedback for adjustments, it’s vital for improving lap times.

“The race day setup worked really well and I was able to set the fastest time on the very last lap of the session – it was a great result for SmartFuels2Race in just their second race meeting as my major sponsor.”

A trio of consistent performances in the races enabled Duggan to maintain second place in the series standings with two rounds remaining.
