South Australia’s own Collingrove Hill Climb will be the centrepiece of two significant motorsport events within two months of each other in the second half of 2017 with the ‘CAMS Applewood Distillery South Australian Hill Climb Championship’ and the ‘CAMS Applewood Distillery Australian Hill Climb Championship’ set to tackle the 685 metre Barossa Valley track.
The Sporting Car Club of SA Inc., promoters of both events, are excited to announce that local company, Applewood Distillery have come on board as the naming rights partner for both events, each of which will be significant in their own right as both State and National Hill Climb Champions are crowned for 2017.
“We’re delighted to be bringing an all new sponsor to our sport, particularly in conjunction with the national championship and the 65th anniversary of the opening of our club’s historic Collingrove Hill Climb track” said Sporting Car Club SA president Peter Whelan.
“Applewood Distillery has been at the forefront of South Australia’s emergence as a craft distilling destination and the opportunity to partner with the Sporting Car Club SA to present Australia’s championship event and showcase our products to spectators in this globally recognised and exciting sport was a great fit for us” said company director Brendan Carter.
With a more than 70 year championship history and track record of being won by some of Australia’s greatest driving and engineering talent the 4 day championship will bring the country’s fastest accelerating and best handling extreme performance track specials together for the ultimate showdown.
Entries for the CAMS Applewood Distillery South Australian Hillclimb Championship are now open with event to take place on September 8-10.
The CAMS Applewood Distillery Australian Hill Climb Championship will be held from October 26-29 at Collingrove. Entries for this event will be opening soon.
