One up and coming driver will win a fully-sponsored drive in the 2013 Australian Swift Racing Series in the newly-created Swift Drivers Challenge.
In a similar vein to the defunct ‘Chance of a Lifetime’ prize from the early 2000s, the Australian Suzuki Swift Racing Series will pit drivers against the clock to compete for the ultimate prize of a full season in the series.
The prize is valued at approximately $50,000.
Drivers interested in entering the competition will need $3000 to enter.
The challenge will be held across three days (February 22-24) in Queensland, commencing with a series of practice and orientation sessions at Lakeside Raceway on Friday. The following day will see drivers experience Swift Racing under race conditions on Saturday.
The challenge will then travel south to Norwell’s driver training circuit for more on-track activities, timed laps and media skills testing.
Along with media and presentation skills, the variety of assessed tasks is designed to find the most well-rounded driver to win the competition.
The 2013 Australian Suzuki Swift Racing Series will be held over seven rounds, each with the Shannons Australian Motor Racing Nationals.
Four sprint rounds (Mallala, Winton, Queensland Raceway and Wakefield Park) will be contested with three (Phillip Island, Sydney Motorsport Park and Sandown) to be held in conjunction with rounds of the Australian Manufacturers Championship (AMC).
Sprint rounds will feature three, 20-minute races and the combined rounds one, 15-minute sprint and a one-hour race alongside the AMC cars and their endurance events.
Swift entrants will then have the potential to continue on with the remainder of the ‘Manchamps’ enduro event, with additional drivers, if they desire.
Each round of the series will include TV on SBS Speedweek and SPEED TV Australia.
