Garry Rogers Motorsport and Tekno Autosports have joined Tony D’Alberto Racing and the Pepsi Max Crew in sporting significantly revised liveries for this weekend’s Armor All Gold Coast 600.
As previous reported, GRM’s #34 Michael Caruso/James Hinchcliffe entry has been given a flash of green thanks to one-off backing from web hosting provider GoDaddy.com.
The company is the major sponsor of Hinchcliffe’s regular IndyCar Series ride with Andretti Autosports, and will act as an associate sponsor of this weekend’s event in addition to its link with Garry Rogers Motorsport.
Meanwhile, Tekno Autosports has again changed the branding on both of its cars as it continues to operate without a full-time primary sponsor.
The #19 Jonathon Webb/Marc Lieb Holden is now promoting the road car tuning arm of its Tekno business, Tekno Autosports, while the sister #91 Michael Patrizi/Lucas di Grassi entry features backing from global hotel chain Ibis.
Hinchcliffe and di Grassi are both making their V8 Supercars debuts this weekend. Lieb, however, drove alongside then IRWIN Racing pilot Alex Davison in the 2011 Gold Coast 600, scoring a best result of 18th in the Sunday race.
The only other livery change is that of Jim Beam Racing’s Steve Johnson and Max Papis. As part of a Facebook promotion, 25,000 fans have their faces on Johnson’s #17 car, merged subtly into the regular colour scheme. The scheme is being officially launched tomorrow morning in the Surfers Paradise pitlane.
All 28 V8 Supercars are at Queensland Raceway today where the international co-drivers are turning laps in their respective mounts.
