A 21-car field is set to take part in this weekend’s Australian Manufacturers Championship round at Queensland Raceway.

The headline act at the sixth round of the 2012 Shannons Nationals presented by Hi-Tec Oils, the AMC competitors will tackle a pair of 200km races to be held on Saturday night and Sunday evening respectively.

The front-running is expected to be dominated by Mitsubishi Lancer Evos, with the two-time defending championship winning TMR Evo of Stuart Kostera/Inky Tulloch set to take on similar entries from Garry Holt/Ryan McLeod, Jim Pollicina/Ryan Simpson, Tony Quinn/Klark Quinn and Dylan Thomas/David Thomas.

The debuting Beric Lynton BMW 1M and the returning Cam Wilson/David Wood Subaru STi make up the remainder of the Class A field.

After three of five rounds, Kostera leads the drivers’ championship standings by two points over Tulloch, thanks to the former’s qualifying performances. Thomas sits a further 69 points adrift in third, with Pollicina and Des Wall rounding out the top five.

The Australian Manufacturers Championship will be joined on the weekend’s schedule by the Kumho V8 Touring Cars, Australian Saloon Car Series, Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge, Radical Australia Cup, Kerrick Sports Sedans Series, Australian Superkart Championship and Australian Swift Racing Series.
