The Australian Superbikes and Australian Supersport 300 have been announced as support categories for this year’s Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix.
While ASBK is a regular feature of the MotoGP program at Phillip Island, Supersport 300 will be making an appearance at a grand prix motorcycle event for the first time.
The Superbike races will form part of the ‘Phillip Island Championship’ after Round 1 was held on the World Superbikes support program and another is scheduled at the Victorian circuit just a fortnight prior to MotoGP.
The next round of ASBK, Round 4, will be held at Hidden Valley Raceway on July 7-9.
The Michelin Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix 2017 is set down for October 20-22.
