Mitch Evans is set to pilot the new Jaguar Formula E car as the squad evaluates its driver options at next week's pre-season test at Donington Park.
Reports from Europe have named the Kiwi among a group of four drivers who will join the new Formula E squad at the Leicestershire circuit.
Evans is set to be joined by Williams Formula 1 development driver and fellow GP2 racer Alex Lynn, sportscar ace Harry Tinknell and former A1GP star Adam Carroll.
The 22-year-old Evans is currently contesting his fourth season in GP2 lying eighth in the championship standings.
The three-day test is due to begin on Tuesday (August 23) with the team yet to nominate when the drivers will be in action.
Jaguar is expected to announce its driver line-up for its maiden Formula E campaign at its September 8 launch after the second and final pre-season test.
The manufacturer's commitment to join the FIA Formula E Championship marks a return to motorsport after a 12-year absence.
