Sauber has confirmed that it will miss the second Formula 1 in-season test at Silverstone next week.
The Swiss squad has been plagued by financial struggles this year with the outfit citing ‘cost effectiveness’ as the reason for missing the two-day post British Grand Prix test (July 12-13).
Sauber pulled out of the opening in-season test at Barcelona in May with the squad devoid of updates to test on its C35.
“As we introduce the #C35 aero package at a later stage, testing in Silverstone is cancelled considering cost effectiveness,” read a post from Sauber’s Twitter account.
Sauber boss Monisha Kaltenborn has been searching for fresh investment since the start of the campaign.
The team has also struggled on the track this year with its drivers Felipe Nasr and Marcus Ericsson yet to score a point.
