Australian driver Joey Mawson completed a successful two-day test at Oschersleben ahead of the ADAC German Formula 4 Championship opener from April 15-17.
Mawson was consistently inside the top five during the test in his Van Amersfoort Racing machine which saw 38 of the 45 Championship drivers turn laps.
“For me the test was a very positive one, we had a schedule of things the team wanted to try and were more focused on the bigger picture rather than just simply being fast in a pre-season test,” the PODIUM-backed Mawson said.
“Unlike many other teams we didn't put on a lot of new sets of tyres, the main thing for us was to ensure we got the maximum life out of tyres which will help us in the long run throughout the year.
“There was only just more than a tenth of a second between the top five drivers at the end of the test and I'm really looking forward to the opening round next weekend.”
Mick Schumacher set the fastest time across the two days narrowly ahead of Jannes Fittje and Mike David Ortmann.
