Australia's Will Power endured a mixed opening day of the new IndyCar season, crashing in first practice before topping the afternoon's second session.
Power had been adjusting the brake bias on his Dallara-Chevrolet through the high speed Turn 9 when his car hit a bump, ripping the wheel from his hands.
The Team Penske star returned to be 0.014s quicker than Ganassi's reigning champion Scott Dixon in Practice 2, with Penske's Simon Pagenaud third.
