Lee Holdsworth’s Walkinshaw Racing Holden will race with major Surf Life Saving Queensland branding at this weekend’s Coates Hire Ipswich Super Sprint.
SLSQ has been named as the charity partner of Charlie Schwerkolt’s Team 18 as part of the deal, which follows a similar arrangement at last year’s Castrol Gold Coast 600.
Holdsworth’s entry has campaigned a number of different brands on its doors this season as Schwerkolt continues to search for a full-time primary backer.
“The ‘swim between the flags’ message is iconic throughout Australia, and we are very proud to promote this very important message,” said Schwerkolt after revealing the revised livery at Queensland Raceway.
“If we can help SLSQ achieve their goal of ‘zero preventable deaths in Queensland public waters’ and promote a very important message, then that is fantastic.”
Holdsworth arrives at Ipswich boosted by a positive run last time out in Townsville, which netted a seventh place result in the Sunday race.
“After our results in Townsville, I believe we’ve found a set-up window which will help our performance at Queensland Raceway,” he said.
“Last year I set the lap record at this circuit so I’m expecting a decent showing this year in the Walkinshaw car.”
