Current AMA Pro Grand National champion Jared Mees will return to defend his title as the Troy Bayliss Classic winner at the fast growing Taree-based event.
Confirmation of Mees' inclusion in the field comes as the 2013 winner Michael Kirkness has also ensured a bumper entry list.
The 2016 Motul Pirelli-backed event scheduled for January 16 will be the first meeting held at the Taree Motorcycle Track following a $100,000 upgrade to the facility.
Event organiser Troy Bayliss said the recent funding boost from the NSW Government has ensured the future for the event that is presented by Garden Master and InsureMyRide.
“The funding support from the NSW Government will help improve the facilities and ensure the Troy Bayliss Classic's longevity as a major event for Taree and the motorcycle community Australia-wide,” Bayliss said.
“Over the coming months we will reveal our other international guests and I can confirm it will be the best line-up we have ever had.”
