The details of the funeral service for Jim Morton, one of Australia’s leading motorsport mentors, have been confirmed.
The service will be held at the Sunshine Beach Anglican Church, Bicentennial Drive, Sunshine Beach at noon on Tuesday December 23.
After the service there will be a wake to celebrate his life.
A family spokesperson said, “Jim left a note with specific instructions that it was a happy wake with lots of Coronas.
“We will do exactly as he’s asked, and hope that anyone that can’t make the funeral do the same.
“Jim had friends and colleagues the world over and to help the family connect with the celebrations of his life we ask that they load photos of themselves with their Coronas on social media using the hash tag #coronaforjim.”
Morton was responsible for providing a start to some of this country’s biggest names through his karting and V8 Supercar development teams including James Courtney, Ryan Briscoe, Mark Winterbottom, Jason Bright, Michael Caruso, Warren Luff, Alan Gurr, James Gurr, Adam Clarke and Adam Graham.
