New Pramac Ducati signing Danilo Petrucci topped the times as heavy rain limited running in the second day of the MotoGP post season test at Valencia.
Petrucci posted a session best of 1:42.431s during a hit out which was plagued by torrential rain.
The tricky track conditions saw just 10 riders post times as the majority of the field elected not to venture out onto the Spanish circuit.
Several riders suffered falls including pacesetter Petrucci, who ended the day more than second quicker than Aspar Honda's Nicky Hayden. The American trialled a new RC213V-RS Open Class machine for the first time.
“I saw that the rain was getting harder and I thought ‘just one more lap', but the rain got heavier and I crashed,” said Petrucci.
“I was only 1.5km/h faster than the previous lap so it was very very difficult to understand the limit. I'm happy I found the limit but I'm sorry for the team that I crashed.
“But anyway it's a positive day as the end was good for me. I hope that tomorrow the condition will be dry so we can work on set-up and understand more with the bike.”
Double world champion Marc Marquez and Yamaha's Valentino Rossi were the only front runners to complete laps.
Marc VDS Honda's Scott Redding was third fastest with Rossi posting an identical lap time to the Brit.
Marquez finished the day in eighth spot having undertaken just 17 laps in the treacherous conditions.
After yesterday's solid debut on a MotoGP machine, Australia's Jack Miller, riding for LCR Honda, was among the group of riders, who chose not to take part.
The three-day end of season test at Valencia will conclude today (Wednesday).
