The Australian V8 Ute Series has confirmed an unprecedented level of live television coverage as it shadows the new V8 Supercars media rights deal in 2015.
The new package sees every practice, qualifying and race for each round covered live on Fox Sports as part of the subscription service’s pledge to show all V8 Supercars support racing live throughout the year.
Two live V8 Ute races will be telecast from each of the six major events on Network Ten, while a one hour highlights show following each round will also be offered on free-to-air.
“This is a major coup for the category, it is definitely a real bonus for fans to have all on track sessions televised live, as well as the major events televised live through Network Ten,” said Utes category manager Craig Denyer.
“In a world where the media landscape now offers such diversity, this really ticks a lot of the boxes, and we are really looking forward to the new opportunity.”
International coverage will meanwhile continue through New Zealand, Motors TV in Europe and Speed Online in the US.
The 2015 Utes calendar features an unchanged eight round line-up, starting with the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide from February 26 to March 3.
It is expected that a unique change to the format will celebrate the Utes’ 15th anniversary in Adelaide in keeping with the two-driver ‘10 years of Legends race’ in 2010.
Commercial Manager of the Clipsal 500, Nathan Cayzer is looking forward to the return of the category.
“We are very excited to have the V8 Utes back in 2015, they are one of the crowd favourites and a natural fit for the event,” Clipsal 500 commercial manager Nathan Cayzer said.
