Former IndyCar champion Sam Hornish jr will join Richard Petty Motorsports for the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup.
Hornish jr, who claimed three IndyCar titles, will drive the #9 Ford Fusion following the departure of Australian Marcos Ambrose.
The former Penske Indy driver makes the switch from Joe Gibbs Racing during which scored one win and four top five finishes from a selected program in 2014.
Hornish jr, 35, accumulated 19 IndyCar wins including the 2006 Indy 500.
He previously competed in three full seasons in the Sprint Cup Series and two seasons in the Nationwide Series for Penske.
