Australian GT Championship contenders Tony Quinn and Richard Muscat recorded a win apiece in the opening two 40 minute races of the season's penultimate round at Sandown.
Recovering from a troubled Friday that included separate clashes with the circuit's armco and rival David Russell, Muscat was unlucky not to win both races.
The extra pitstop time allocated to Muscat courtesy of his driver seeding and qualifying position hurt the youngster's chances in the opening encounter.
The Victorian returned to the circuit behind Quinn and, while still looking capable of victory, a crash from Andrew Macpherson saw the race come to an early end, ensuring Quinn the win.
Macpherson had lost control of his Porsche at the exit of Turn 4, spinning hard into the inside barriers.
Pole-sitters David Russell/Justin McMillan were classified third ahead of John Morriss and Trophy Class winners Dean Koutsoumidis/James Winslow.
The second race saw Muscat able to open up enough of an early advantage over Quinn that he could return to the track ahead of the Aston Martin after the compulsory stops.
On this occasion Russell had led the majority of the journey, but fell foul of a deflated tyre moments prior to handing over to car owner McMillan.
That left the John Bowe/Peter Edwards Ferrari to complete the podium behind Muscat and Quinn.
Fourth and fifth were filled by the consistent Morriss Porsche and Koutsoumidis/Winslow Audi entries, while McMillan dragged his Lamborghini home eighth.
The field was without regular front-runner Klark Quinn after a heavy crash on Friday ended the weekend for the reigning champion's McLaren.
A final 40 minute race will conclude Round 5 of the AGTC on Sunday.
