Fernando Alonso has admitted he is not looking to move away from Ferrari despite being heavily linked to a switch to McLaren.
The two-time world champion is understood to be one of McLaren's targets to lead the squad next season as the Woking squad reunite with renowned Japanese engine supplier Honda.
McLaren are yet to confirm their driver line up for 2015 as boss Ron Dennis weighs up his options after confirming he is monitoring the availability of several leading drivers.
While Ferrari has struggled to deliver a car capable of challenging for a world title, Alonso says that although flattered at the attention from McLaren, he has no intention to leave the Maranello squad.
Alonso drove for McLaren in 2007 which turned out to be an ill-fated season for the Spaniard following a bitter rivalry with then team-mate Lewis Hamilton. After just one campaign he switched to Renault before moving to Ferrari in 2010.
“It's not my intention at the moment to move, I want to win here and finish the job that we started some years ago and we will see what the future comes,” Alonso, who has a contract with Ferrari until 2016, told Sky Sports F1.
“There has been a lot of talk since last summer but from my mouth there never came any interest to leave Ferrari or any words saying l would join another team.
“There was a lot of speculation, which is not disturbing but it created a little bit of tension and stress.
“Yet you also feel happy and proud that the best teams have an interest in you and say so in public.”
His commitment to Ferrari comes after boss Marco Mattiacci said that the team will retain both Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen for next season.
The announcement could prove to be a lifeline for Jenson Button, who may have been forced to make way for the Spaniard. McLaren is yet to hold contract talks with the Brit for next season.
