The penultimate event on the 2013 V8 Supercars Championship calendar will be known as the Sargent Security Phillip Island 360 as part of a new sponsorship agreement announced today.
The Sydney-based security services provider has signed on to back the Phillip Island meeting for the next three years.
The news comes just a week after Sargent Security confirmed that it has taken title sponsorship on Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport's Scott Pye-driven Holden for the remainder of the season.
The company has been involved with Dunlop Series driver and part-time speedway racer Paul Morris for some seasons, and currently also backs V8 Supercars endurance regular Steve Owen and Carrera Cup racer Michael Patrizi.
Sargent Security's enthusiasm for V8 Supercars continues despite a recent deal for rival firm Wilson Security to take the position of ‘official security supplier and security partner' of the category from next season.
“We used to do a lot of advertising in the industry magazines but V8 Supercars offers a variety of strategic and direct ways to leverage our brand,” said Sargent Security general manager Peter Harris.
“Our clients love it and the television coverage has helped with the growth of our company.”
The Phillip Island event will run over three days and see V8 Supercars' Super Sprint format used in its 60/60 configuration for the final time.
